WNCDGA Bag Tag Rules

The core purpose of the Bag Tag is to add another fun element to personal, league, and tournament rounds of disc golf. These also act as your entry into the year-end tournament (Top 64 tags in attendance at the tournament are accepted to play in this club event).

Getting Started

Most of the time, memberships will be available at all club sponsored events. You can also plan via contacting one of the club officers or posting in the WNCDGA page on Facebook.

The Goal

Your goal is to have the lowest numbered Bag Tag possible and have fun along the way.

Rules of Engagement

Automatic Challenges (AC)

Casual Round Challenges (CRC)

WNCDGA members may casually meet at a course or agree to meet at a course/time to compete for bag tags in:

Proximity & Distance Challenges (PDC)– Event, League or, Tournament Play

WNCDGA members ‘competing in’ (proximity) a coordinated Disc Golf event (official or casual) may agree beforehand to compete for Bag Tags while playing in separate cards/groups/divisions (distance), for a given round.  Example: “Let’s see who shoots a lower score in Round 1.”

Exception:

Any Automatic Challenges take precedence over any challenge from another card. You must settle with your current card first.

Relief & Award:

If a member is eligible for an Auto-Challenge AND shoots a better score than the tag holder in the AC round but is denied his or her new tag due to claims of a “Distance” challenge, he or she may claim the tag he or she is owed from any of the distance-competitors.

Wins, Ties, and Exchanges

Q: How do I win?

A: The player with the lowest score at the end of the challenge round earns the lowest numbered Bag Tag among the challengers.

Q: I won, when do I receive my winning Bag Tag?

A: Bag Tags must be exchanged immediately following the round.

Q: What happens if we have a tie?

A: In the event of a tie, the player who started with the lowest numbered Bag Tag will be awarded the lowest numbered Bag Tag. This may require some sorting in a group challenge.

Rematches

Challengers who have just won, may, but do not have to accept/schedule a rematch challenge from a player that the she or he just beaten unless one of the following occurs:

Exception: Rematches are overridden by automatic challenges that occur during a subsequent round of a multi-round event.

Eligible Tags

Members may only challenge members who possess the WNCDGA Bag Tag; no other Bag Tags are eligible to participate in challenges. You must have your Bag Tag with you to challenge or accept challenges. Master's as well as Woman’s tags follow these rules but must be challenged by a tag from that division. If you carry both tags, you may challenge both at the same time, or just one of them.

Forfeiture

Each Bag Tag belongs to the entire club membership and should be accessible to all club members. Any club member will be required to surrender his or her Bag Tag if:

If you lose your Bag Tag, please report it immediately. You may then purchase the next lowest number Bag Tag available. Replacement tags, if available, will be determined by the club officers

Rules are subject to change and the WNCDGA Board of Directors will decide all disputes. The Board of Directors reserves the right to revoke your Bag Tag at their discretion.
